Photo Group Discussion @ Studio68

A SHORT TERM ANNOUNCEMENT THAT’S NOT TO BE MISSED!! A PHOTO GROUP DISCUSSION/PRESENTATION HELD BY A TALENTED BAHRAINI ARTIST WALEED AL ABBAS, THIS MONDAY APRIL 30 AT 6.30PM.
“ We just learned that Waleed Al Abbas is in Beirut for a few days and thought that we wouldn’t miss the opportunity of introducing his work to all of you who are passionate about photography.” Kiki Bokassa (Co founder of Vapa Association)
The main objective of this seminar is to demonstrate better ways for composing a picture.
It will explain how photographers compose their image, and, therefore, how to improve their skills in organizing the elements of the image. On another hand, it talks about how to build a picture, explains what a picture consists of, how shapes are related, how spaces are filled, and, finally, how the whole thing must have a kind of unity.
“I have been in photography field for around 8 years, however, after preparing the material for the composition workshop, I discovered new aspects of picture composition that was not visible to me before”
Who Should Attend?
Whether you are a confident camera use, a passionate amateur photographer, aspiring professional, photographer’s assistant or professional aiming to sharpen your skills, this presentation/discussion can be very beneficial for you.
About Waleed Al Abbas
Waleed AlAbbas is a self-taught photographer. He works as a full time project manager in a bank in Bahrain. Photography was his point of interest since his teenager years. He decided to develop his passion for photography in 2006, where he started learning about this huge field, going into the small details of photography and traveling around the world searching for interesting photography subjects. Beside attending to many workshops, he conducted some himself, as well as seminars, to help amateurs and passionate people like him, advance in their photography skills. He is an active member of the Bahrain Photography Association. At the moment, beside the bank, he is engaged in the commercial work of Architecture and Fashion photography, and continues his seminars whenever he has the chance.

LARA ZANKOUL’S BIOGRAPHY

Lara Zankoul is a 23-year-old-Lebanese photographer who startedpracticing photography in 2009. Her photoscombine surreal compositions with dreamlike atmosphere, where reality becomesan imaginary aesthetic world. Lara is also a postgraduate student in economics.

LARA ZANKOUL’S STATEMENT

My work is a collection of photographs that mixconceptual, dreamlike and surreal themes. Inspired from classical tales andchildhood memories, I try through photography to give a new vision of the worldby recreating the harmony of what I see. In other terms, the moment is createdrather than caught, and pictures tell stories. They feature anonymous andtimeless characters that are immersed in their own world. Symbols areomnipresent in the pictures, and they trigger a thought in the mind of theaudience. My utmost goal is to show how meaningful a picture can be.
