    The advanced level of the creative writing workshop will offer you a compendium of writing exercises, daily practices, sources of inspiration, and even more quips and tips.

    Together we will explore the different approaches to writing, the influences of genres, contrasts, music, drama, dreams, creating your own style and more…

    Who is Charbel Naim?

    With a background in Advertising, Marketing, HR, Hospitality Management, Tourism and the Performing Arts, Charbel Naim is currently VAPA’s communication officer and a member of Improbeirut acting group. He is also a news editor/writer, actor and trainer.

    REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS A MUST.

    DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: February 14, 2012.

    The workshop is made of 5 sessions, 2 hours and a half each.

    The fee for this workshop is $200 per student.

    A certificate of achievement will be handed out at the end of the workshop.

N:B: The workshop (intensive course) will take place this coming Monday December 3, it’ll be an intensive course
(4 sessions;Mon & Thurs) from 6.30 until 8.30 pm.
 
If you wish to attend please register this Saturday 1 (before noon) by passing by to fill the application form and settle the fee which is of 120 usd.

This workshop is designed for those who would like to add a creative spark, a burst of creativity to their writings, whether beginners, amateurs or professionals, this workshop will help you bring to the surface what’s been lying dormant inside.

When it comes to writing, all of us are often blocked in expressing our thoughts in writing – usually because of learned, preconceived ideas of how we “SHOULD” write, when the truth is there are no rules or limitations to writing!
In this workshop you will learn how to improve your writing skills through descriptive exercises, self-exploration, memory retrieval, lively class discussions and games!Outline:

Body Language Workshop (monthly workshop)

Would you like to tell if someone is lying? Are you looking for a way to improve your communication skills? Are you seeking more cooperation and understanding from other people?
This workshop will sensitise you to your own non-verbal signals and will help you read key signs from the people you are dealing with, which will help you reach better deals, make a positive impression, choose well your partners and friends and even boost your self-confidence.
All this in a fun and interactive atmosphere using improvisations, videos, photos, and role-playing games.

This workshop will be given by VAPA’s Communication Officer, Charbel Naim,  who besides his background in Advertising, Marketing, HR, Hospitality Management, Tourism and the Performing Arts,  has a rich experience in improvised theatre and is a member of Improbeirut acting group. He is also a news editor/writer, actor and trainer.

Outline:

II – The basics:

– Origins, universal gestures, cultural differences. – Personal space. – Distances.
 

III – Handshakes. IV – Liars exposed:

1 – Gestures. 2 – Types of liars. 3 – Speech.

V – Smiles.
VI – Eye signals. VII – Arms and legs.
VIII – Smiles and laughter.

IX – Micro expressions:
– Happiness – Anger- Disgust- Fear- Contempt- Surprise- Sadness.

X – Cultural differences.
